This wine follows the initial path of the winery, as much in personality, which is very appropriate for the region—refined enough in its potency to be an aging wine—as in quality, asserting nobility. This ’01 surpasses even the preceding ’00, which is logical given the experience and the quality of the year.

Charming olfactory, with fine and at the same time intense aromas; clear presence of toast from the treatment of certain woods, notes of roasting, vanilla, clove, etc., fusing with hints of wild ripe fruit reminiscent of blackberries. To the palate as to the nose, it is delicate as well as flavorful, absolutely expressive, well structured and with pronounced fruitiness, making it lively.

100% Tinta Fina from various parts of the Ribera del Duero region. Aged for one year in new American and French oak barrels. Bottled in early July 2003.

Juan Ignacio Velasco can be happy; in chasing his life’s goal, producing a great wine, he has just succeeded with the first product from this winery. Elegance and character, refinement and substance. One observes a grand grape, offering fine and grandiose aromas, very vibrant and complex; of black currant and blackberries, also minerals, balsamics and of the highest quality wood, giving it spicy notes with perhaps a hit of vanilla. Sweet, subtle tannins. A wise concentration, an athletic body that is not arrogant.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and a percentage of Graciano. Malolactic fermentation in new Allier oak barrels for 15 months. Bottled in Spring of 2002. 49,975 bottles.

A Chardonnay from fifty year-old vines grown in vineyards classed as “Grand Cru”, noted for its strong character. Lively and varied aromas, with a fruity first sensation, clearly citrus with some Granny Smith apple, followed by a hint of wood from maturing in oak, which enhances its complexity. More than just very aromatic, its fruitiness is evident on the taste buds, where it is very crisp, with a mellow acidity; it is elegant and balanced, evolving, growing, blossoming, going about it subtly, and always sprightly. It is perhaps lacking the full body needed to make it an exceptional product, though its character brings out the ease with which it is sipped while maintaining a significant identity. Delicate and singular in a character as bold as it is charming.

 En la línea que caracteriza a los Marqués de Cáceres Reserva y que en la práctica refrenda añada tras añada. Le distingue un bouquet profundo que recuerda a cerezas, fruta que alterna con una leve sensación dulce ligeramente especiada, apreciándose vainilla, canela, tabaco y tostados. En el paladar repite y se manifiesta con claridad la uva, con un deje a picota, también a ciruelas, muy bien integradas con la madera, mostrando frescor y algo de torrefactos, chocolate y especias dulces. Elegante, en verdad elegante y armónico, perfectamente conjuntado, con un apreciable carácter y una riqueza de matices muy de agradecer.
Ha sido elaborado con un 85% de tempranillo y un 15% de garnacha y graciano. Permaneció 22 meses en barricas de roble francés de entre 1 y 4 años.
