This is without a doubt the foremost Mas Castell offered by Raimat to date, lightly surpassing previous vintages. With care in packaging and in what it represents, it has a bit more of everything—aroma, flavor, body, as well as identity and of course, aftertaste. The fruit expresses itself with overwhelming force, showing maturity and, above all, nobility, that nobility that sets great wines apart. With plumb compote, coffees and toasts, tannins, acidity and effectiveness, pleasurable with an understated, accessible complexity.
Aged in barrels for a prolonged 2 years. In bottles since January 2000.
