This wine is immensely expressive in its nose and palate, having coaxed all of its possible expressiveness and possibly more. It has concentration and great evolution, showing a great capacity to stimulate one’s memory; it introduces factors of a new type that, though strange, we have considered to be very positive: a green, fresh, balsamic wine that has temperament and a certain degree of warmth. A hint of acidity, evident tannins… its pillars are manifestly expressed. The presence of Carbernet Sauvignon is evident and contributes to its character.
Contributing to its great singularity are its vineyard; the coupage—40% Tempranillo, 10% Mazuelo, 10% Granache and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon—the wood in which it is aged, 22 months in Russian and French oak barrels; and the concept on which it is based, refinement in its substance. Bottled in January 2004. 12,000 bottles.
