José María Fonseca has managed to create one of the most substantial wines of Spain using grapes off his own vines, fundamentally of the albariño variety that are then enriched by the addition of loureiro and caiño blanco varieties.
This is the finest Terras Gauda in years. It has gained in strength, complexity and brazenness, which combine to offer a much richer wine on the palate. The acidity manifests itself in a self-evident, adjusted way, and the subtle bitterness and honeyed texture, a product of the very ripe fruit, contribute to the harmony.
