There are many who believe, and not without good reason, that this is the finest merlot in Italy. It expresses exuberant aromas of the merlot grape, with the fruit shining as the star of the show – very lively, truly complex, with toasted notes and a certain spice. It is somewhat more simple on the palate than its bouquet would lead you to believe, with elegance and harmony prevailing, confirming the dark fruit that distinguishes it while hinting at wild, forest fragrances.
100% merlot. The malolactic fermentation is done is Allier oak barrels, 60% new. The wine is aged for 16 months. Bottled in June, 2003. 8,920 bottles and 250 magnums.
